Yesterday our daughter wanted to go see the Helsinki Christmas Parade.
This was actually our first time to see the parade.
Eilen meidän tytär toivoi pääsevänsä näkemään Helsingin jouluparaatin. Tämä olikin itse
asiassa eka kerta, kun menimme katsomaan paraatia ja jouluvalojen syttymistä.
There were thousands of people gathered in the streets of Helsinki where the parade took place.
Helsingin keskustaan olikin pakkautunut tuhansia ihmisiä seuraamaan paraatia katujen varsille, joita pitkin paraati kulki.
There were all sorts of nice things you could see during the parade. Our favorites were this giant snowman and...
Kaikkea ihanuutta oli nähtävissä joulukulkueessa. Meidän suosikkeja olivat tämä isokokoinen lumiukko ja...
... these ballet dancers in gorgeus costumes that were from the Snow Queen ballet / opera show that is going on at Helsinki Ooppera right now.
... upeasti pukeutuneet balettitanssijat, jotka olivat Kansallisoopperan Lumikuningatar-esityksestä, joka on vielä meneillään Helsingin Oopperassa.

Hi Sari, I am reminded of our last visit to Helsinki when I see these photos. We walked the full length of this street more than once. I saw a scarf on a manaquin in a store window, loved it, and went inside the shop to see about buying one. Well, the lady took it right down and sold it to me. Whenever I wear it, I think of a happy time. Looks like the parade was a lot of fun.

Thanks for your comment Linda. I am so glad to hear that these photos reminded your stay at our beautiful capital city Helsinki. This parade was so nice and our daughter really enjoyed it - as did we parents. All me missed there was snow, haven't had any snow for weeks now and we so much hope to get snow here before Christmas.
Have a nice day!
