Images from midsummer

Hi there! We spent our midsummer at our summer cottage in Central Finland and here are some images from there. We picked some wildflowers and used scissors and I noticed someone also decided to cut some of mom's hair while doing all that cutting... Well there is always good to be a little bit of drama and excitement with everything...

Hei vaan!

I so like wildflowers and how they spread everywhere during summer months.

Minä pidän tosi paljon villeistä kesäkukista ja siitä, miten ne leviävät kaikkialle teiden pientereille kesäkuukausina.

We ate e.g. some finnish fish called muikku and boy that was good!

Me söimme vähän muikkuja ja olivatpa ne hyviä!

We went so sauna of course.

Saunoimme pitkään.

And then also visited my husband's and his brother's summer cottage on midsummer day where my husband's Brother and his wife were spending midsummer weekend.

Ja kävimme myös mieheni ja hänen veljiensä mökillä juhannuspäivänä, jossa mieheni veli vietti juhannusta vaimonsa kanssa.

This place is so beautiful and the nature is gorgeous. We are dreaming about building an actual summer cottage there in a few years, right now there is a big sauna building and one little guest cottage.

Tämä paikka on niin kaunis ja luonto aivan upea. Me haaveilemme rakentavamme tänne lähivuosina uuden mökin, sillä tällä hetkellä mökkitontilla on iso saunarakennus ja pieni vierasaitta.

We made a campfire and enjoyed the view to the lake.

Teimme pienen nuotion ja ihailimme järvinäkymästä.

And also ate some sausage links that we grilled in the campfire.

Ja söimme tietty hiukan makkaraakin, joita paistoimme nuotiolla.

It was such a beautiful though a bit chilly day.

Oli niin kaunis mutta hiukan viileä päivä.

And then later in the evening went back to our own summer cottage to enjoy the quietness of the nature. More about our midsummer at Kotiliesi blog.

Ja myöhemmin illalla suuntasimme takaisin omalle mökille nauttimaan luonnon hiljaisuudesta. Lisää juhannuksesta voit lukea myös Kotiliesi blogista.

Sari, these photos delighted me so much. You have captured a peaceful spot in this much too busy world. Makes me want to find a quiet place to spend the weekend near home.
We call the white flowers, "Queen Anne's Lace" - I think that name is perfect.

Oh that is so nice to hear. For me going to our summer cottage is like going to a far away place ( which it is actually - four hour drive) and there I forget all the stress and hassle and just take it easy and enjoy all the simple things.

Queen Anne's lace is a perfect name for those delicate flowers :-) Have a wonderful week Linda!
