Love to knit!

Something strange has happened to me. Me who didn't much care about knitting before now loves to knit! And I also find myself constantly thinking about new ideas that I could do with knitting.

Jotain outoa on tapahtunut minulle. Minä, joka en aiemmin juuri neulomisesta kiinnostunut rakastan tuota touhua! Ja huomaan myös vähän väliä pohtivani uusia ideoita, joita voisi neulomalla toteuttaa.

You can check out the instructions (in finnish) for the tube scarf above and this super easy pillow cover at Kotiliesi blog.

Tuubihuivin ja super helppotekoisen tyynynpäällisen ohjeen voit kurkata Kotilieden blogista.

Oih, tuo tyynynpäällinen on ihana! Olisi kiva joskus opetella "kunnolla" neulomaan...

Hi Sari,
I love the snood (scarf,as we would call it). Beautiful yarn. I have now gone to the site to see the pattern. I put it into my Google translate, but am not sure if I have it right. Size 6 needles may be the European size? Did you cast on 60 stitches and then knit that next number of rows?

I am heading to the store today and I will buy some yarn to make it. Thanks for inspiring me to do something with my hands before winter ends.

Thank you Linda. Oh it's called snood scarf in english - here we call it tube if I translate it straight from our spoken language.

The google translator is quite challenging at times but yes I did cast 60 stitches and then knitted 140 rows of right knit (sorry I am not that familiar with knitting vocabulary since this is my first time in years to knit).

I also liked that yarn I used with the scarf and was actually planning to buy some more but unfortunately it was sold out. Well no wonder since I bought that yarn some months ago...

I am glad to hear that I inspired you to head out to the store to get some yarn and do some knit work... ;-)

Have a nice week!

Hi - a quick update before I go to work. I bought yarn and have knitted the first five rows. I love the yarn I bought and when finished, if I can find a way to send you a photo, I will.

Hi Linda. I'm glad to hear you have started knitting already and it would be nice to see the results. Maybe you could send me a photo of the finished work to my email photosbysari@gmail.com when you're done :-)

Have a nice weekend!

Kivannäköinen huivi, hyvät värit. Itsekin tein yhden tuubihuivin talvella ja langat on odottamassa puseron tekoa. Jäin käsitöihin koukkuun (pun intended) heti, kun niitä alettiin koulussa opetella.

Btw, oikea & nurin is knit & purl in English and at least here in the US (West Coast) we call this kind of scarf a tube scarf.

Hyviä käsityöhetkiä!

Kiitos Heidi kommentistasi ja sama täällä, jäin myös koukkuun neulomiseen. Tosin itselläni meni vähän kauemmin tämän innostuksen heräämisessä... :-)

And thanks for helping me out w the knitting vocabulary also ;-) Btw where in the West coast you live?
