Parhaat kaverit - Best Friends

Parhaat kaverukset - ainiaan. Viime viikonloppu oli ehkä tyttäremme paras kesäviikonloppu, kun hän sai vieraakseen parhaan ystävänsä. Nämä tytöt eivät olleet nähneet toisiaan yli vuoteen, vaan kummasti tuntui siltä, ettei viime tapaamisesta olisi kuin pieni hetki. Nämä kaksi ovat niin täysin samalla aaltopituudella, ettei tottakaan.

Tuliaiseksi tyttäremme sai tämän ihanan mekon ja samanlainen löytyi tottakai myös bestikseltä. Meidän pienet rättikaksoset... ;-)

Best friends - forever. Last weekend was probably one of the best summer weekends for our daughter, when she got her best friend here visiting us. These girls haven't seen each other for over a year, but it felt like they had just seen each other. So on the same frequency these two were, that it feels almost unreal.

As a souvenir our daughter got these lovely dress and of course her BFF had the same one. Our little rag twins... ;-)

Menimme käväisemään Fiskarsissa ja tytöillä oli hauskaa. Neidit valitsivat vaatteensa ihan itse, ja väriä ja kuosia kyllä aina riittää, kun nämä kaksi pääsevät vauhtiin. Äitejä vähän hymyilytti... ;-)

We went to visit small Fiskars and girls had so much fun. They both chose their oufits, and as you may see these two don't hesitate to use colours and patterns. Moms were smiling just a bit... ;-)Molemmat tytöt saivat hauskat kissalompakot Fiskarsin torilta. Hinta oli huima 2,50 euroa kipale. Huomenna tyttären ehdottomasti paras lapsuuden ystävä matkaa perheineen takaisin Yhdysvaltoihin. Voi kuinka toivon, että taas pian tapaisimme heitä.

Both girls got these funny cat wallets from the Fiskars market. They cost 2,50 euros a piece. Tomorrow our daughter's absolutely best childhood friend and her family will travel back to U.S. Oh how I wish we will see them soon again.

Tänään meille tulee vieraita kaukaa USA:sta. Tyttären paras kaveri ja hänen perheensä. On kyllä ihanaa nähdä heitä pitkästä aikaa. Oikein hyvää viikonloppua kaikille!

Meillä oli tässä mansikkapäivä. Ostimme lähimansikkatilalta pari laatikkoa tuoreita mansikoita, joista toisesta teimme survosta ja toisen laatikon marjat pakastimme kokonaisina. Eiköhän näillä taas pärjätä läpi talven. Pikkuneiti oli innokas apuri. Hienosti putsasi marjoja, vaikka raitamekko saikin hiukan uutta, punaista väriä ylleen... ;-)

We had a strawberry day. We bought two boxes of fresh strawberries from a local strawberry farm, and from the other box we smashed the berries, add some sugar and froze them and from the other we froze the strawberries as whole. I guess this will be enough for the winter. Our daughter was very eager to help. So nicely she cleaned out the berries, even though her striped dress soon got a new red colour on it... ;-)

Löytö - Find

Kävin tänään töiden jälkeen pikaisesti lähikirpparilla. Melkein jätin menemättä. Mutta kyllä kannatti käydä. Löysin tämän tooosi ison ja tooosi painavan, vanhan täysipuisen kehdon. Juu, maalipinta on aika villi ja värit voimakkaat, mutta tää on just täydellinen meidän neitosen tulevaan leikki/vierasmökkiin. Enkä taida edes koskea tähän, saa olla iloisen värinen ja täyttyä monista monista nallukoista.

I went quickly through a local flea market today after work. Almost decided not to go. But it was worth going. I found this veeery large and oh so heavy, old wooden cradle. Yes, the surface is wildly painted and the colours are strong, but this is just perfect for our daughters play/guest house to be. I don't think I'm even going to touch this, it can look cheery and be filled with many many teddy bears.

Lempipaikka - Favorite place

Lumi-kissan lempipaikka on tämä. Olohuoneen kaapin päältä kattimme meitä tiirailee ja on usein niin laiskan näköinen, että. Voi kun saisi itsekin tehdä samoin... joka päivä kiitos...

This is the most favorite place to be for our cat Lumi. On top of our living room armoire she's watching us and often looks so incredibly lazy. Oh, I wish I could do the same... every day please...
Mä tässä vähän chillailen...

Tämä on se asento, johon minäkin tähtään elokuussa, jolloin saan viettää hiukan lomaa perheen kanssa. Tällä hetkellä pikkuneitimme nauttii kesästä isovanhempien luona, mies on matkalla pohjoisessa ja minä käyn päivät töissä ja illat... surfaan. Mukavaa viikkoa kaikille. Toivottaa yksi tulevaa lomaa innolla odottava.

This is the pose I will also aim in August, when I will have some vacation time with my family. Right now our daughter is enjoying summer time with her grandparents, my husband is on a business trip up north and I am here working during the day and during the night I'm... surfing. Mustikkaa - Blueberries

Se alkaa jo olemaan mustikka-aikaa. Takapihaltamme aukeavasta metsästä kävin jo keräämässä emalimukillisen. Teimme mustikkamaitoa, tai pöppiä, niinkuin kotona oli tapana sanoa.

2 dl mustikoita
5 dl maitoa
2 rkl talkkunaa
2-3 rkl sokeria

Mustikat survotaan, lisätään talkkunasokeriseos päälle ja sekoitetaan. Lopuksi sekaan vielä kylmää maitoa.

It is almost time for blueberries. From the little forest that opens from our backyard I picked one enamel mug full of them. We did blueberry milk, or as we used to say at home pöppi.

2 dl fresh blueberries
5 dl milk
2 tbsp talkkuna (multigrain mix) flour
2-3 tbsp sugar

Crush all the fresh blueberries and add the sugar talkkuna flour mix and cold milk.


Jos haluat mustikkamaidon olevan oikein raikasta, laita se jääkaappiin ja tarjoa kylmänä. Nam!

Tänään kävimme tosi mielenkiintoisella kotikirpparilla, josta löytyi kaikkea vanhaa ja kaunista. Vanha valkoinen ikkuna ja vanha matkalaukku lähtivät muutamien muiden mielenkiintoisten löytöjen kera matkaan. Jos vain ennätän, niin koetan saada aikaiseksi niistäkin napsittua pari kuvaa. Täällä nyt touhutaan kovasti pientä vierasmajaa/leikkimökkiä, joten pitää jo taas kiitää. Mukavaa viikonloppua!

If you want the blueberry milk to be fresh, you can put it in the fridge for a while and serve it cold. Yum!

Today we went to an interesting yard sale, from where I found all sorts of old and pretty things. An old white window and an old suitcase went with me among couple of other interesting finds. If I have time I try and take some photos of my latest finds. It's just that we are building a tiny guest house/play house at the moment and it seems to take all our time. Have a nice weekend!
